Richard H. Roy

Richard Henry Roy, 80 of Fall River passed away peacefully, at home, on May 6 after a brief illness with his loving wife of 59 years Judith, by his side.
Richard was retired after teaching at BMC Durfee High School for 34 years. He was also the golf coach, as well as an avid golfer. He both worked and played at the Fall River Country Club for years winning all the major board tournaments.
He earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Dartmouth and a master’s degree at Providence College after serving in the Naval Air Reserve.
In addition to his wife Judith, Richard leaves two daughters, Kathleen A. Megin (significant other Peter Yousif), Heidi A. Gubala (husband Jay) and three granddaughters, Kory Goumas (husband Nicholas), Courtney Magda (husband Jordan) and Brooke Gubala (fiancé Jason Artioli), a brother, Henry Roy (wife Linda) and a brother-in-law, James Taylor. He was the son of the late Henry and Bertha (Fournier) Roy.
Richard was able to pass in the comfort of his own home thanks to the excellent care of both his daughter Kathy a registered nurse and Peter Yousif, a home health care professional.
As he wished Richard’s funeral and burial was private.
