Richard Philibert, 64, of Delmage Rd., Swansea, died unexpectedly, at home, Wednesday, August 1, 2007. Born in Fall River, the son of Madeline (Moreau) Philibert of Somerset and the late Wilfred E. "Lefty" Philibert, he lived in Swansea for the past 35 years.
A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and a Vietnam Era Army veteran, he was employed by E. A. Ross Electronics and several cable television companies.
A singer and bass guitar player, he was a member of the Galaxies, frequently playing at the Lincoln Park Ballroom and the Generations. He was a Swansea special officer, a member of the Swansea Democratic Committee and a Amateur Radio Operator, his call letters being KA1CSL.
Besides his mother, survivors include his former wife Elaine (Generous) Philibert of Lincoln, RI; 3 children, Russell R. Philibert and his wife Susanna of Bristol, RI, Richard R. Philibert and his wife Pamela of Bradenton, FL and Vickie E. Walters and her husband Dean of Lincoln, RI and grandchildren, Brianna and Alexia Walters and Alyssa Philibert.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. PORTICO, LARGE PARKING AREA BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations may be made to Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., # 450, Newton MA 02458.
