Richard R. Martel

Richard R. "Dick" Martel, 79, of Fall River, husband of the late Mary "Del" (Desrosiers) Martel, entered into rest Thursday, March 24, 2016. He was employed by Fall River Tool & Die Co., Raytheon Co. and Elbe File & Binder. He was a member of the American Men's Bowling League, Westport. He was a very active volunteer and supporter of his parishes and the St. Vincent de Paul Society and also made many rosaries for charity. He cherished spending time with his children. He was the father of Suzanne Cambra (fiancé Warren Cheatham) of New Bedford, Jeanne Robidoux (husband Dennis) and Brian Martel (wife Patty), all of East Freetown, Richard R. Martel, Jr., Diane Frazer and Thomas Martel (wife Lina), all of Fall River, and the late Russell Martel, Bernadette Viveiros and David Martel (wife Tracy of Fall River). He also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was the brother of Robert Martel of Assonet and the late Pauline Couture, Irene Bruneau and Victor and Roger Martel and in addition is also survived my many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home. Please omit flowers.
