Richard J. Pacheco, 76, of Fall River, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 19, 2021.
He was the husband of Patricia (Souza) Pacheco. Besides his wife, he leaves four children, Richard J. Pacheco, Jr. (longtime companion Joan Dubois) of Savannah, GA, Dwayne Pacheco of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Melanie Medeiros (husband Paul) of Fairhaven and Tyson J. Pacheco (wife Lisa) of Bristol, RI; five grandchildren, Jennie Pacheco, Richard J. "RJ" Pacheco III , Ryan Pelland, Madison Collins and Hanna Pacheco. Great-grandchildren Calvin Collins, Donovan Pittman, Dion Pittman, Skyla Pacheco, Emily Pacheco. He also leaves behind four siblings, Barbara Gaboriau, John Morrow, Peter DeCosta and Delores Souza and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late John “Flash” DeCosta and Rose (Vieira) Leduc and the brother of the late Rita Ray, Arleen Nunnelly, John DeCosta, Jr., Kenneth DeCosta and Joseph "Blacky" Silvia.
Mr. Pacheco was a longtime member of the Laborers Local Union #610. He spent his last years working at Reynold's Brothers Construction before retiring. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodworker, you would often find him building something in his garage. He loved camping and rooting for his favorite sports teams Greenbay Packers & New York Yankees, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, in fact, he never missed one of their sports games. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 52 years and family.
Visitation hours will be held Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main Street with cremation to follow.
