Rev. Denver Lee Stanford, Sr.

Rev. Denver Lee Stanford, 78, of Fall River, an ordained minister in the United Pentecostal Church International, husband of Janet (Gillet) Lafrance Stanford died Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was the husband of 52 years of the late Netta (Sexton) Stanford.He was born in Portales, New Mexico. The former pastor of the United Pentecostal Church, Wichita, Kansas, the Boston United Pentecostal Church, Brighton and the recent pastor of the Joy of Pentecost United Pentecostal Church, West Bridgewater, he evangelized in Africa, England and Japan. He was a graduate of the Tupelo Bible College. He was the father of the late Denver Lee Stanford, Jr. (wife Nanette Stanford Wallace of Texas) and Nathan A. Stanford (wife Stacey) of Delaware; the grandfather of Dana Beumer (husband Matt), Janae Stanford, Nathan A. Stanford, II (wife Angela), Anthony Stanford and Christopher Stanford; the brother of Nina Welch of Maryland, Lynette Grim of New Mexico, Ronnie Morgan of Texas and the late Charlotte Stanford and Patricia Pipal; the son of the late Albert Lee Stanford and Eunita (Rowland) Stanford Morgan; the step-father of Debra Duff Torres (husband Robert) of Portsmouth, RI and Christine Borges of Fall River and the step-grandfather of Kyle and Kelsey Duff and Jay and Karissa Haynes. His funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Temple United Pentecostal Church, 1198 Fish Rd., Tiverton, R.I. Visitation, at Christ Temple UPC, Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with family and friends sharing reflections beginning at 7:30 p.m. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made to be used according to the family's wishes. Burial, Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Delaware.
