Reverend Marc H. Bergeron, M. Div., 69, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, New Bedford, and former pastor of St. Anne Parish and Shrine, Fall River, died Friday, August 1, 2014. Father Bergeron was ordained to the Priesthood on December 5, 1970, by the Most Reverend James L. Connolly. He also served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Joseph Parish and Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, New Bedford and as Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, New Bedford. He was also the Ecumenical and Interfaith Affairs Officer for the Diocese, Religious Assistant of the Dominican Laity, Mother of Mercy Chapter, Tiverton and a member of the Massachusetts Council of Churches and the Interfaith Council of Greater Fall River. A native of New Bedford, he was the son of the late Romeo and Ella (Therrien) Bergeron and leaves a cousin, Suzanne (Therrien) Fernandes of Orlando, FL and many dear friends including Thomas Delaney of Fall River and Rosemary Almeida of Westport. The wake will be held Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4256 Acushnet Avenue, New Bedford and additionally Tuesday morning at Saint Anne Church, 750 So. Main St., Fall River from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford.
