Rene W. "Gus" Lavoie

Rene W. "Gus" Lavoie, 72, of New Boston Rd., Fall River, husband of Marguerite L. "Mém&egravere Margie" (Costa) Lavoie, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He was employed by Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. and Wells Fargo Armored Car Service and served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was an active member of Holy Name Parish where he was the vice-president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Marian Medal recipient, Eucharistic Minister and Youth Group volunteer. He loved being with family and friends and enjoyed camping and the casinos. Besides his wife of 49 years, he leaves four children, David J. Lavoie and his wife Linda of Somerset, Jeffrey W. Lavoie and his wife Lisa and Kevin S. Lavoie and his wife Erin, all of Fall River and Angie Gamache and her husband Richard of Portsmouth, RI; grandchildren, Lindsey, Samantha, Abigael, Adam, Corey and Meghan; many friends especially John Stevens, and his dog "Angel". His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
