Raymond F. Silva, 80, of Fall River, formerly of Tiverton, husband of Rita (Pontbriand) Silva, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born in Little Compton, RI, he was one of seventeen children of the late Joseph and Mary (Medeiros) Silva. Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves, a daughter, Sharon Dussault and her husband Gerald of Fall River; 3 grandchildren, Rebecca Desmarais and her husband Jason of Somerset, Michael Dussault and his wife Kristen of Fall River, and Brian Dussault who he lived with until his death; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Noah Desmarais and Aiden Dussault, who he loved and cherished spending time with; siblings, Richard Silva of Reno NV, Nancy Langis of Westport, MA, Shirley Perry of FL, Catherine Magnuski of Tiverton, Joan Berard of Swansea, and Hilda Furtado of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Flanagan, Dorothy Kline, Irene Tavares, Alice Weathers, and Joseph, George, Edmond, Edward, Alfred and Charles Silva. A Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, and member of Local 4, Operating Engineers, he was a crane operator for many years, retiring in 1989. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
