Raymond Rodrigues

Raymond "Kid Ray" Rodrigues, 70, of Great Hill Drive, Wareham, died Friday, September 30, 2005 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Lauretta Stetson and the former husband of Shirley (Mello) Rodrigues of New Bedford. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Florence (Souza) Catulo of Fall River and the late Antone Rodrigues. Mr. Rodrigues lived in New Bedford most of his life and in Wareham for many years. He was employed as a commercial fisherman from the Port of New Bedford. He was dedicated to his work and was known as being one of the hardest workers in the fishing industry. He was a member of the New Bedford Fishing Union. Besides his mother and his former wife, he leaves 3 daughters, Sheryle Rodrigues of Acushnet, Brenda Rodrigues of Cranston and Patricia Brum of Dartmouth; 1 son, Glen Rodrigues of Lynn, 3 sisters, Evelyn Claudio and Florence Imbeault, both of Fall River and Gilda Furtado of Tiverton, 3 granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church, Pulaski St. Fall River.
