Raymond Souza, 86, of So. Beacon St., Fall River, husband of the late Josephine "Jody" (Machado) Souza, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
An Army Air Forces veteran of WW II, he was employed by River Edge Printing, and was a custodian for the Dartmouth and Fall River Public Schools. An avid golfer he played Pine Valley Country Club and was an original association member of Hidden Hollow Country Club, both in Rehoboth.
He leaves a son, Raymond J. "Jimmy" Souza of Fall River; and loving grandson, Nathan Joseph Souza of Kent City, Michigan; a sister, Rita Casey of Rhode Island and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank his very special friends, Del and Charlie Medeiros who gave him loving support and care for many years.
He was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Maxwell) Souza and the brother of the late Evelyn Carreira, Helen Cardoza, Theresa Selema, Rose Gagne, Margaret Duclos, Anna Golden, Delores Sabat and Joe, Jesse, George and Dorothy Souza.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow.
