Raymond Gendreau

Raymond "Razor Ray" Gendreau, 50, of Progress St., Fall River, husband of Denise (Souza) Gendreau and son of Jeannette M. (Bedard) Gendreau Carro of Swansea and the late Horace L. Gendreau, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007, following a long and courageous battle with melanoma cancer.
A graduate of St. Jean Baptiste School and Bishop Connolly High School, he served in the Air Force, then earning a bachelor of arts degree in Psychology-Sociology from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1983 and a masters degree in Social Work from Rhode Island College in 1985. He was a social worker at Paul Dever State School and the Wrentham Developmental Center for 22 years and volunteered as a counselor at Henry Lord Middle School for 6 years.
He enjoyed motorcycling, sports, especially the Red Sox and cherished time spent with his family.
Besides his wife of 24 years and mother, he leaves a daughter, Rachel Anselmo and her husband Jacob and a son, Kevin Gendreau, all of Fall River; a sister, Doris Javonillo and her husband Benjamin of Swansea; a brother, Dennis Gendreau and his wife Lee of Westport; godchildren, Gregory Javonillo, Debra-Lee Souza, Vanessa DeSa, Dylan Bruce, Lucas DeFarias and Taylor Gaudette and nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow.
Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 9:00 PM. PORTICO, LARGE PARKING AREA BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations for Melanoma Research may be made to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 320 Brookline Ave., Boston MA 02215.
