Raymond Boucher, 95, of Fall River, passed away Sunday night, October 1, 2023 with his family by his side.
Raymond was a loving and dedicated husband, and father of four children. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Russell Boucher.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Antonetta “Etta” (Antonelli) Boucher, married 68 years; his sons, Richard Boucher of Fall River, and Raymond Boucher, Jr. of St.Petersburg, Florida; and his daughter, Linda Boucher-Lyford and her husband Bill Lyford of Dunedin, Florida; his younger brother, Reginald Boucher of Somerset, MA; two grandchildren, Raymond James Boucher and Amy-Lynn Sauro;three great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Cameron and Wesley;
and many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a longtime resident of Fall River, and son of the son of the late Roseanna (Dugal) Boucher and Anselme Boucher and was the brother of the late Jeannette Puget, Lorraine Berube, Donat Boucher, Henri Boucher, Fernand Boucher, Alban Boucher.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War., serving as a Staff Sergeant.
He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service and retired from the Fall River Post Office after 34 years. He loved his job and his customers. Everyone knew “Ray” or many who knew him referred to him as “Frenchy”. He brought joy and laughter to everyone who came in contact with him. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC).
In his retirement, he simply enjoyed and cherished spending time with his family and friends, fishing, attending sports events, visiting his son and daughter in Florida, and tending to his prolific garden. He had a long, full life.
Visitation is omitted.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass Thursday, October 5, at 10:00 at Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. Fall River. Burial to follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
Reception to follow at Whites of Westport.
