Raymond C. Boswell, 89, of Fall River, a native of New Bedford, husband of Jeanne(Nadeau)Chabot Boswell, died Saturday, June 12, 2010. A Navy veteran of WW II, serving aboard the USS Alhena (AKA-9) in the North Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, he was a New Bedford firefighter for 39 years and an insurance inspector for Data Rep Associates for 24 years. He was a Life Member of the Poirier Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, New Bedford. Besides his wife of 24 years, he leaves 2 children, Raymond C. Boswell, Jr. and his wife Linda of Worcester and Jean C. Monty of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Shawna Kutyla (husband Jonn) and Christine and Catherine Monty; a great-grandson, Ryan Kutyla; siblings, Leo Boswell of New Bedford, John Boswell of CT, Patricia Martins and Mary Pimental, both of No. Dartmouth, David Boswell of Westport and Elizabeth Mello of Acushnet; nieces, nephews and stepchildren, Marc (Brenda), Susanne, Donald (Denise), Paul, and Denise Chabot. He was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (McKenna) Boswell; the brother of the late Helen Novia and Joseph, Lawrence, Paul and Charles Boswell and the former husband of the late Florence (Hampton) Boswell. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Trinity Church, Fall River, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visitation, Monday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 502 Bedford St., Fall River MA 02720.
