Raymond Bento

Raymond C. Bento, 67, of Tiverton passed away Monday, January 2, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Gertrude A. (Bouffard) Bento. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Manuel and Isabelle (Cambra) Bento. Mr. Bento was a Heavy Equipment Operator for various companies as a member of I.U.O.E., Local 4, Boston for 35 years. He served in The United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. He was a former member of the Sakonnet Sportsmen's Club. Ray enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, family gatherings, clambakes and tending to his yard. He was the loving father of Raymond C. Bento, Jr. of Tiverton and Sharon Anne Resendes and her husband Sergio of Fall River and the cherished brother of Donald R. Bento of Tiverton and the late Alfred Bento. His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 9:00 AM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 South Main St., Fall River. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
