Raymond A. Laferriere, 77, of Butternut Rd., Somerset, died Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Saint Anne's Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of Therese (Bousquet) Laferriere. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Napoleon and Lena (Castonguay) Laferriere, he lived in Fall River for many years and in Somerset for the past 39 years. A graduate of the former Msgr. Prevost High School, he studied at technical schools and was director of transportation for International Harvester, Providence and Old Colony Transportation, New Bedford and vice-president of transportation for United Trucking, Boston. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Post 303, American Legion, Swansea. He was a member of St. Louis de France Parish, Swansea and a former board member of the Blue Hills Technical School, Milton. Besides his wife of 53 years, survivors include a daughter, Susan Smith and her husband David of Berkley; 3 granddaughters, Monique, Nichole and Simonne Smith, all of Berkley; and 3 sisters, Lucille Lagasse, Pauline Rodrigues and Janet Jusseaume, all of Somerset. He was the brother of the late Claire Falls. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
