Phyllis A. (Binette) Koohy

Phyllis A. (Binette) Koohy, 66, of Tiverton, formerly of Fall River, wife of Robert J. Koohy, died Sunday, May 30, 2010. A Registered Nurse and graduate of Union Hospital School of Nursing, she was employed by Union Hospital, Charlton Memorial Hospital, Kimwell Nursing Home and Bristol Elder Services and was a member of the Union Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Assn. Besides her husband of 44 years, she leaves 3 sons, Jon Koohy and his wife Jamie of Rumford, RI, Jeffrey Koohy and his wife Nancy of Swansea and Jason Koohy and his wife Erika of Middletown, RI; grandchildren, Amanda, Sean, and Noah Koohy; a brother, Robert Binette and his wife Ann Marie and nieces Diane Tighe and her husband Tom of Dartmouth and Eileen McCarthy Mendonca and her husband Steven of Fall River; and their children, Patrick and Kathryn Tighe and Casey and Jack McCarthy. She was the daughter of the late Leon Binette and Irene (Lizotte) Binette Hurley and the sister of the late Elaine Binette. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, June 12 at 9:00 AM in St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, followed by a brunch at White's of Westport.
