Peter D. Shovelton, 59, of Fall River, passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
He was the husband of Sheila (Harris) Shovelton. They have been married for 33 years and best friends for 40.
Born in Fall River, Pete was the son of Janet (Champagne) Shovelton and the late James Shovelton.
Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his daughters, Hannah Shovelton, and Abigail Shovelton; his siblings, Karen Shovelton, Kathleen Shovelton, and Amy Shovelton; His mother in law Diane Harris (late husband Bobby Joe Harris), sisters in law Theresa Helger and Cheryl Shenkle, and brothers in law Ken Harris and Gordon Shenkle. Along with many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion Brady.
Pete loved spending time with his family and being a girl dad. Although Pete was quiet he had a great sense of humor and was known for his funny one liners. Pete was an avid New England sports fan, and loved to play and watch golf. He liked listening to music and going to concerts and music festivals. Pete enjoyed being out in nature and caring for his yard and home. Pete also collected healing crystals and stones, these helped him stay positive throughout his journey. Pete was employed as an inventory analyst at Blount Fine Foods, retiring in 2023.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 30, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Saturday, Aug. 31 at 9:00 AM for a procession to Good Shepherd Church where the Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM
