Peter J. Irla, 52, of Tiverton, RI, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024.
Growing up, Peter spent summers on Stafford Pond and was a season ticket holder to Theater By The Sea in Wakefield, RI. He was a black belt in Taekwondo and loved to ski. He was protective of his kid sister and even though they were six years apart, he always let her tag along. He loved everything horror but surprisingly, his favorite holiday was Christmas. Family traditions were important to him but pictures weren’t his favorite.
Peter received his Associate of Science degree from Bristol Community College in Computer Programming and worked for Systems Resource Management for many years.
Peter was enthusiastic about music and it was a staple in his life. He listened to all genres and the louder, the better. KISS and Weird Al were two of his favorites.
He was an avid fan of all New England sports teams but especially the New England Patriots. He was also a loyal fan to the Dallas Cowboys much to the mortification of his inner circle. Peter watched TV game shows to keep his mind sharp and WWE for entertainment. He frequently went to the movies and enjoyed eating out.
Peter never missed going to the local Renaissance Faires and always attended in costume to get the full experience. He was always in the middle of a fantasy or science fiction book. He wrote many short stories of the same. Countless hours were devoted to gaming: tabletops, video, and RPGs.
Peter was a spiritual person and he practiced his faith daily. He was sweet-tempered and had a laid-back attitude which helped him navigate life’s curves. Peter loved to laugh and his laughter was contagious.
Peter leaves behind his sister, Aimee Irla, and her husband David Miguel of Tiverton, RI. He was the son of the late Richard “Dick” Irla and Jocelyn (Messier) Irla.
