Paul R. Lapre

Paul R. "Sonny" "Shorty" Lapre, 70, of 49 Whipple St. Fall River, died Sunday, December 24, 2006 at home. He was the former husband of Lillian (Desmarais) Lapre of Fall River. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Ethel (McVey) Lapre. He was employed by General Dynamics, Quincy as a ship fitter and had more recently been employed by Vets Cab. Company, Fall River, as a driver. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish most of his life. Mr. Lapre was a 1954 graduate of Dimon Regional Vocational Technical High School, Fall River. In his early years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Besides his former wife, he leaves A stepdaughter, Sharon Desmarais of Tiverton, two sisters, Mary L. Bennett of Dighton, Marlene Ferrie of Fall River, 2 brothers, Walter C. Lapre of Somerset and Frederick J. Lapre of North Dighton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the stepfather of the late James Cabral and the brother of the late Robert H. Lapre. Funeral Friday at 11 AM from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S. Main St. Fall River with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church, S. Main St. at 11:30 AM. Burial, Mass. National Cemetery. Calling Hours Thursday from 4 to 8 PM.
