Paul E. Lapointe

Paul E. Lapointe, 83, formerly of Murray St. and McDonald St., "North End" Fall River, husband of the late Helen (Wojtowicz) Lapointe, died Thursday, August 19, 2010. A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a graduate of Msgr. Prevost High School, Class of 1946 and St. Michael College, Vermont, Class of 1950. He was a US Government loan officer for 28 years and then the first manager of Borden Place East and Borden Place West. He was a trustee and Marion Medal recipient of the former St. Mathieu Parish and also employed by Lapointe Real Estate and Appraisers and was an avid Red Sox fan. He leaves five children, Catherine Poisson (husband Jean) of Dartmouth, Harriet Lapointe of Warren, RI, Pauline Brodeur (late husband Robert) of Westport, William Lapointe (wife Elizabeth of Berkley, MA and John Lapointe (wife Christine) of Fall River; 6 grandchildren, Nicole Davis (husband John), Daniel Poisson (wife Amanda) and Alex, Eric, Sara and Connor Lapointe; 5 great-grandchildren Joshua Davis, twins Ryan and Audrey Poisson and twins Nathan and Rebecca Poisson; siblings, Herman W. Lapointe, Jr. of Tiverton, Marie Helen Lapointe of Washington, DC, Sister Marie William Lapointe, OP, of Dighton, and Janet Iwanski of Somerset; and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Herman and Odila (Labrie) Lapointe and the brother of the late Therese Lussier. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, September 11 at 10:00 AM in Notre Dame Church, followed by a repast at White's Restaurant, Westport. Visitation and flowers omitted.
