Paul E. Durand, Jr., 57, of Tiverton, husband of Cathy (Cyr) Durand, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. The founder of the family businesses, Durand's Auto Gallery and Durand's Kawasaki Motorsports, Tiverton, he worked alongside his two sons and wife. He previously was General Manager for Barboza Enterprises and Providence Subaru and owned and operated Aquidneck Seafood, Middletown and Jamestown, RI. A member of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years, Paul loved life, had many friends, and was the first one there to help a friend in need. He loved to cook and was famous for his Thanksgiving and Christmas deliveries of fresh French Gorton to many of his friends. An avid collector of Antique Automobiles and other memorabilia, he enjoyed long weekends "antiquing" in Maine with his wife of 27 years. He was most happy, when with his sons, working on his many cars and fishing on his boat the "Slammer". A member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks and the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club, fishing and trap shooting were his passion. Besides his wife and sons, Paul E. Durand, III and Timothy J. Durand, both of Tiverton, he leaves, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son of the late Paul and Alice "Tootsie" (Waddington) Durand and the brother of the late George Jolly. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Hillside Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. Donations to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701 appreciated.
