Otilia (Fonseca) Ferreira, 105, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence M. Ferreira.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Alvaro Fonseca and Mary (Camara) Fonseca. She was predeceased by her sisters, Pal, Lucy, Lee, Dorothy, Hilda, and Sophie.
Faith and family were central to Otilia’s life. Growing up, she was a generous and caring daughter and sister who used her sewing talents to create special garments for her sisters. After marriage, as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she continued to use her cooking and sewing talents to enrich the lives of her loved ones. Throughout her life she set an inspiring example with her wise, prayerful, and loving presence.
She is survived by two children, Lawrence Ferreira, and his wife Cheryl and Rosemary Rak and her husband Robert Rak; four grandchildren, Lawrence M. Ferreira, Lindsey M. Ferreira, Andrew F. Rak, and David P. Rak.
Family and close friends are invited to a visitation which will be held Friday, September 29, 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 30, at 9:00 A.M., from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral, corner of Second and Spring Streets, at 10:00 A.M. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
