Oren E. Chace

Oren E. Chace, 92, of Bushee Rd., Swansea, husband of the late Irma (Mahoney) Chace, died Friday, August 3, 2012. An Army veteran of WW II, he was a farmer and Swansea School Bus driver, owned and operated a "Pick Your Own Strawberries" business for many years on Bushee Road, and was employed by Read's Dairy and American Auto Auction. An avid card player, he frequented the Swansea Fire Barn. He leaves two children, Oren E. Chace, Jr. and his wife Donna of Charleston, SC and Ellen Botelho and her husband Michael of Coventry, RI; grandchildren, Katlyn and Kyle Chace and Sean and Scott Botelho; a brother, Arthur Chace of Syracuse, NY and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Howard and Edith (Eldridge) Chace and the brother of the late Gladys, Richard and Earl Chace. Following cremation, his service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 GAR Highway, (corner Maple Ave.) Swansea. Visitation and flowers omitted.
