Normand E. Richard

Normand E. Richard, 83, of Snell St., Fall River, husband of Lilianne (Dubreuil) Richard, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010. A Navy veteran of WW II and the Korean War, he was employed by Stop & Shop Supermarkets for 40 years. An avid fisherman, he was a member of the Somerset Veterans of Foreign Wars, Swansea American Legion, and the Stop & Shop Retirees Club. Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves 8 children, Elaine Alves, Daniel Richard, Anne Malenfant, Claire Francoeur and Mark Richard, all of Fall River, Janine Silva of Florida, Suzanne McGuirk of Swansea and Jean Richard of Texas. The father of the late Bernice Carvalho and the son of the late Edward and Ida (Poirier) Richard, he also leaves, 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rita Ouellette and Pauline Boutin, both of Fall River, Lucille Kirby and Jacqueline Bernier, both of Swansea, Claudette Porter of West Warwick; a "brother" Raymond Patenaude of Somerset; and nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Pulaski St., at 9:00 AM. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
