Normand Lavoie

Normand H. Lavoie, 88, of Tiverton, husband of the late Mary Ann (Andrade) Lavoie, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Newport Hospital.

Normand served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for 8 years. He was employed by Pouliot’s Auto for 9 years, Globe Manufacturing for 33 1/2 years, retiring in 1999. During retirement, he was a driver for Viti Mercedes Benz. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4753 of Tiverton, the Tiverton Little League, and was on the Board of Advisors at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. Normand leaves his three children, Linda Mello and her husband Tom Tidwell of Tiverton, Denise Szelag and her companion Robert Hayes of Tiverton, and Michael Lavoie of Tiverton; six grandchildren, Heather Fournier (husband Dillon), Alicia Delaney (husband Kevin), Amy Dowty (husband JR), Mark Ryan Mello (wife Laura), Adam Lavoie and Matthew Lavoie (companion Ailey Wilson); eight great-grandchildren, Owen, Parker, Jaxson, Colton, Ari, Lili, Jack, and Vaughn; and his brother, Robert Lavoie (wife Evonne). He was the son of the late Edgar and Irene Lavoie.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 10, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 11, at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton.

Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
