Normand Fontaine

Normand Fontaine, 91, formerly of Lafayette Dr. and Orchard St. Fall River, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021.

He was the husband of the late Rose (Martins) Fontaine, the son of the late Leo Alectance Fontaine and Blanche (Bourgeois) Fontaine-Audette and step-son of the late Jean Louis Audette.

Normand leaves two sons, Normand L. Fontaine (wife-Dianne) of Little Compton, RI and Paul J. Fontaine of Fall River.  In addition, he leaves  two grandchildren; Ashley Amado (husband-Brian) of Westport, Gregory Dube (wife-Sherri) of Lakeville,and 6 great-grandchildren; Anya, Sophia, Max, Beckett, Addy and Wes.

Normand was the step-brother of Alfred Audette of Brockton and the late Irene Sardinha Medeiros, Lillian Rioux and Normand and Roger Audette.

Normand served his country in the United States Navy; later to be employed by Plymouth Printing, Doro Finishing and Sarama Lighting.

Normand was an avid walker. He walked daily to his favorite restaurants including Atlas Pizza, where he was fortunate to have wonderful caring friends. His family would like to thank them for their kindness and support throughout the years.

Normand resided at the Somerset Ridge Center for the past 4 years where he was beloved by his nurses and caregivers. The family is very grateful for their compassionate and caring staff.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8:45 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa's Church, Stafford Rd. Tiverton. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
