Normand R. Blanchette, 78, of Worthen St., Swansea, died Friday, July 28, 2006. He was the husband of Therese (Carrier) Blanchette. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Aime and Rose (Bouchard) Blanchette, he lived in Swansea for many years. A Navy veteran of both WW II and the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion, Post 303, Swansea. A linotype operator, he was employed by Personal Print and Lincoln Press, Fall River and the Somerset Spectator. Besides his wife of 57 years, survivors include 3 daughters, Diane S. St.Pierre of Fall River, Denise S. Fitta and her husband Robert of Jacksonville, NC and Jeanne M. Johnson and her fiancé Robert A. Margeson, Jr. of Fall River; a son, Richard A. Blanchette of Swansea; 5 grandchildren, Cherie Anne Breslin, Brian and Timothy St.Pierre, Melissa Fitta and Kimberly Pereira and 5 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Shawn, Hanna, Jonathan and Michael. A funeral service will be held Sunday evening at 8:00 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow. Visitation, Sunday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
