Norman F. Manchester, Jr.

April 16, 1928 — May 2, 2012

Norman F. Manchester, Jr., 84, of Beech Ave., Tiverton, RI, beloved husband of Mary E. Manchester, was delivered into the arms of our heavenly Lord Jesus Christ with his loving wife and daughters by his side on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. An Army and Navy veteran of WW II, he worked with his family in the operation of the former Winnisimet Dairy Farm, and was a chef for the International House of Pancakes, Middletown, RI, and the food service supervisor at Kimwell Nursing Home, Fall River for many years. Norman was an avid gardener, cook and talented artist. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years of Mary E. (Manchester) Manchester. He was the father of Susan D. Ruggiero (late husband Lorenzo) of Smithfield, RI, Christine M. Goodwin (husband Anthony) of Mansfield, MA, and the late Patricia Beth Jensen (husband Keith of Seekonk, MA); the grandfather of Matthew, Meredith, and Amanda Ruggeiro, Laura and Ryan Goodwin, Jennifer Dicenso (husband Robert), and Elizabeth, Tyler, and Daniel Jensen. He was the son of the late Norman and Myra (Valcourt) Manchester; and the brother of Olive Siembab, and Lorraine Gagnon. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Visitation, Friday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
