Norman R. Caron

August 26, 1922 — November 10, 2005

Norman R. Caron, 83, of Chicago St., Fall River, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Fall River Jewish Home. He was the husband of Olivette "Yvette" (Berube) Caron. A lifelong resident of Fall River, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Anita (Plourde) Caron. A Navy veteran of WWII, he fought in the invasion of Okinawa in 1945 and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. A 1952 graduate of the Rhode Island College of Pharmacy he was director of Pharmacy Services, St. Luke Hospital, New Bedford and also employed by Pleasant Drug, Adams Drug, Fall River and Rite Aid Pharmacies, Fall River and RI. He attended Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, and was past president of the Catholic Pharmacist's Guild of New Bedford for many years, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Southcoast Opera Club, Allegro Glee Club of Fall River and Lifetime Learning Club. Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by 4 sons, Richard N. Caron(and his wife Laurie Anello) of Needham, Atty. Gerard Caron (and his wife Sheila Cusack),of Needham, Paul R. Caron(and his wife Cindy) of Fall River and Francis Caron of Richmond, CA; two sisters, Muriel Copeland of Assonet and Jacqueline Nadeau of Dover, NJ; 8 grandchildren, Melanie, Stacey, Lucas, Jessie, Nicholas, Charlotte, Patrick and Michael Caron; and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Georgette Ratte. His funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. Cremation to follow. Everyone is invited to Whites of Westport for a meal, immediately following the funeral mass. Calling hours omitted.
