Norma Ann Ferland, 75, a devoted wife and stay-at-home mom, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24 2024, in Westport, Massachusetts, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 7, 1949, in Fall River, she was the beloved daughter of Alphonse Ferreira and Mary Gluchacki, who have preceded her in death, as has her brother Alphonse Gluchacki.
Norma, a proud graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1967, dedicated her life to her family, exemplifying love and devotion. Known for her passion for cooking, she delighted in preparing meals for her family, creating a warm and inviting home. Her joyous spirit extended beyond the kitchen; she embraced shopping and relished spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fostering memories that will forever be cherished.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Warren R. Ferland, along with her children Warren Ferland and his wife Aida Ferland, Heather Machado and her husband Louis Machado and Justine Ferland, all of Westport, Tammy Ferland and her fiancé Joseph Piasczyk of Coventry, and Brenda, Dawn, and Holly Ferland of Fall River. Norma's legacy lives on in her grandchildren—Jared, Samantha, Katie, Hailey, Austin, Trevor, Travis, Hannah, Jacob, Noah, and Niah—and her great-grandchildren, Owen, Max, and Margo. She also leaves her siblings, Alan Ferreira of Kalamazoo MI, Michael Gluchacki, of Fall River, Manny Gluchacki of New Bedford, Donna Olson-Lilly of Mesa, AZ, Aurore St. Laurent of Acushnet MA, Anna Gluchacki of Spring Hill, FL and Collette Beaupre of Portage ME.
To honor Norma's life, visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, located at 690 South Main Street, Fall River, MA 02721. A funeral service will follow on October 1, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
Norma Ann Ferland will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, forever reminding them of her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought into their lives.
