Michel A. "Mike" Destremps, Sr., 62, of Poplar Drive, Tiverton, died Thursday, May 14, 2009.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years.
He was maintenance supervisor for Veolia Water North America at the Fall River Wastewater Treatment Plant. He was an avid fisherman.
He leaves 3 children, Michel A. Destremps, Jr. of California, Rhonda Devlin (husband Andrew) of Florida and Robert Destremps (wife Cathy) of Tiverton; 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Sean and Chase Devlin; a great-grandchild; a brother, Ronald Destremps (wife Millie) of Tiverton; his fiancée, Marlene Urban of Fall River; his former wife Martha Richard of Florida and nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Roland and Beatrice (Michel) Destremps and the brother of the late Pauline Caron (husband Donald), Paul Destremps (wife Evelyn) and Rochelle Ferry (husband Steve).
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, at 10:00 AM. Cremation to follow.
