Michael J. Richard

Michael Joseph Richard, 69, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 after a long, admiral battle with cancer.

Michael is survived and missed by his loving wife Suzanne M. (Cote) Richard of 43 years; and his son and daughter-in-law, Jay M. Richard and Lisa Richard of Fairhaven. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his two grandchildren, Bria Rose and Paul Michael. He also leaves behind two siblings, Steve Richard and Kathleen (“Kathy”) Desmarais, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Born in Bay Shore, New York, he was the son of the late Edgar and Marian (Thomson) Richard.

He spent many years as a computer operator, and was a long-time employee of the Interactive Data Corporation before his retirement.

Michael was a typical New Englander as an avid Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots fan. He loved his Red Sox the best, and could be seen wearing one of his many baseball caps wherever he went. He loved to watch movies and TV shows, and was having a great time teaching his grandson to play chess.

Services will be private. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
