Michael R. Oliveira

Michael R. Oliveira, 63, of Fall River passed away unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Born and raised in Fall River, Michael was the son of the late Joseph P. and Maria (Raposo) Oliveira and the brother of the late Abilio (“Abel”) Oliveira.

Michael graduated from BMC Durfee High School and also earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst).

Michael had a passion for all things sports-related, and he was an especially devoted and often critical fan of the New England sports teams including the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. He loved spending time with his extended family including numerous cousins from Massachusetts and the Toronto, Canada area. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and music and he owned an impressive vinyl record collection.

Michael worked for the last few years as a Distribution Driver with GateHouse Media Massachusetts.

He is survived by his three nephews, Joseph Oliveira of Swansea, MA, Matthew Oliveira of Barrington, RI, and Andrew Oliveira of Swansea, MA, his sister-in-law, Charlotte Oliveira of Swansea, MA, as well as three aunts, Valentina Barbosa, Rosalina Cabral and Armenia Medeiros and many beloved cousins and longtime friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 13 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So.Main St. Fall River. Face coverings and social distancing required.
