Maurille A. "Mac" Dugal, 90, of New Boston Rd., Fall River, formerly of Westport and Somerset, died Friday, May 18, 2007 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Doria "Dot" (Boulay) Dugal.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Louis and Marie Louise (Truchon) Dugal, he lived in Westport for 12 years and in Somerset for 25 years.
A graduate of the former Thibodeau's Business College, he worked at the Kaiser Shipyard in Providence, RI. An Army veteran of WW II, he saw combat in Italy with the 34th. Infantry Division, 133rd. Battalion, participating in all the major campaigns including Anzio, Salerno and Monte Cassino. Among his many military citations are a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.
After his military service he worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and was a life member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his wife of 67 years, he leaves
a son, Attorney Roger J. Dugal and his wife Diane of Somerset;
a sister, Doris Bergeron of Maryland;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lionel, Joseph, Theodore, Rene and Gerard Dugal.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Notre Dame Church at 10:00 AM.
Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
