Maurice R. "Moe" Maltais, FRFD, Retired, 78, of Fall River and Clearwater, FL, husband of the late Beverly (Cabral) Maltais, and the companion of Myrna (Sachs) Whitehead passed away Thursday November 19, 2020.
A National Guard Veteran , he was a Firefighter for the City of Fall River for 31 years and the driver of Ladder 2. He retired in 2003. He also was employed by Munro Distributing as maintenance for 20 years, a milkman for many years and in his youth he also worked for Lincoln Park. He enjoyed doing carpentry, camping, drinking Crown Royal, singing an Elvis song, a good story and loved making puzzles.
He is survived by his two children, Robin Moniz (husband John) and Maurice Maltais, Jr. (wife Crystal), all of Fall River; four grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas Costa, Maurice Maltais, III, and Pamela Maltais; one sister, Paulette Desmarais (Raymond) of Rochester; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Veronica Albernaz and Joseph Cabral; many nieces and nephews . He was the son of the late Roland and Pamela Maltais, brother of the late Robert and Andre Maltais and Lucille Costa and son-in-law of the late Manuel and Alice (Farias) Cabral. He also leaves behind his faithful sidekick Lucy.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 27th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River.
Facial coverings and social distancing required. Burial will be private.
