Maurice "Morris" Costa, 90, formerly of Yellow Hill Rd., Fall River, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Born in Swansea, he moved to the family farm in Fall River as a boy. He and his brother Benny ran the dairy farm for many years. A substantial part of the farm was preserved in 2002, as part of Copicut Woods, for all to enjoy. A retired dairy farmer and former employee of Mid City Scrap Iron and Salvage Co., he cherished time spent with family, taking long walks with his menagerie of pets and caring for his horse, dog and animals. Survivors include a beloved niece, Agnes Croteau and her husband William of Dartmouth; a grand niece, Christine Croteau and a grand nephew, Michael Croteau and his wife Barbara; a great grand nephew, Michael Croteau, Jr., a great grand niece, Alexandria Croteau; and his sister-in-law, Clotilde Costa, all of Fall River. He was the son of the late Joseph and Emily (Aguiar) Costa; and the brother of the late Manuel Costa Mello, Mary Maciel, Joseph Costa Mello and Benjamin "Benny" Costa. His funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Anne Church at 11:30 AM. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Dartmouth. Visitation, Monday morning prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
