Matthew L. Kuenzler

August 18, 1970 — August 24, 2015

Matthew L. Kuenzler, 45, of Little Compton, RI died of a heart attack August 24, 2015. A caregiver for severely disabled patients, he was employed by Westport Associates. Survivors include parents, John M. and Marilyn J. (Moy) Kuenzler of Bonita Springs, FL, previously of Cumberland, RI; sister Kathryn R. Stover of Leesburg, VA; nephew Daniel J. Stover; niece Jenna K. Stover; aunts and uncles, Luann M. and Gary W. Bower, E. David and Diane Kuenzler; and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Lucille and James Moy and Edythe and Edwin Kuenzler. Matt was born in Arlington Heights, IL and attended high school in Virginia before moving to Rhode Island in the 1990's and eventually settling in Little Compton. He chose to live in a small cottage overlooking the ocean. He found his calling as a caregiver for those who could not care for themselves. His clients looked forward to seeing him during his weekend shift from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. When not working, Matt lived a simple life where friends and family were more important than toys for boys. He enjoyed working on his car (he never had a new one), taking pictures, getting together with friends, and visiting his parents and his sister and her children. A funeral service will be held Saturday at noon in AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S. Main St, Fall River, MA, www.auclairfuneralhome.com. Visitation prior to the service is from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a short memorial service to follow. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to New England Organ Bank, Waltham, MA, www.neob.org. A luncheon celebration of Matt's life will be at 1:00pm at McGovern's On the Water, 310 Shove St, Fall River, MA.
