Mary (Medeiros) Vale, of "Borden Place West" 181 So. Main St., Fall River, widow of Manuel M. Vale, died Sunday, November 6, 2011, after a short illness. A member of ILGWU, now UNITE, she worked in the garment industry for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sewing. She leaves three sons, John M. Vale and his wife Carlyn of Somerset, and Manuel M. Vale and his wife Carolyn K. and Joseph A. Vale and his wife Pauline Y., all of Westport; five grandchildren, Sherri Turner (husband Timothy), Robin Duarte (husband Paul), Carlyn Atkins (husband Eric), Brian Vale (wife Tracy) and Karen Vale; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Lena St.Laurent of Tiverton, Celia Robbins of Portsmouth, RI and Antone Medeiros of Little Compton, RI; and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late John and Frances Medeiros and the sister of the late John, Manuel, Anibel and Edward Medeiros, and Joseph Morris. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in St. Mary Cathedral at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home.
