Mary D. "Del" (Desrosiers) Martel, 70, of William St., Fall River, formerly of Beattie St., wife of Richard R. "Dick" Martel, Sr., died Saturday, November 8, 2008. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and dancing.
Besides her husband of 52 years, she leaves 7 children, Suzanne Cambra of New Bedford, Brian Martel (wife Patty) of Suffolk, VA and Jeanne Robidoux (husband Dennis), Richard R. Martel, Jr., David Martel (wife Tracy), Diane Frazer and Thomas Martel (wife Lina), all of Fall River; 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Loretta Ferreira of Wallingford, CT and Lorraine Bettencourt and Raymond, Joseph and Normand Desrosiers, all of Fall River and nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Russell Martel and Bernadette Viveiros; the daughter of the late Alfred Desrosiers and Lillian (Dufresne) Desrosiers Branco; the stepdaughter of the late Manuel Branco and the sister of the late Roger Desrosiers.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass in Holy Rosary Church at 10:00 AM.
