Mary F. Lima

Mary F. Lima, 69, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born on January 13, 1956, in Terceira, Azores, she was the beloved wife of Jose S. Lima and the daughter of the late Jose S. Monte and Maria J. (Amaral) Monte.

Mary worked as a machine operator in the textile industry.

She was well known for her infectious positivity, often echoing her famous words, "Yes, yes, yes," which reflected her optimistic outlook on life and her joyous nature.

Family was truly Mary's world. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 49 years, Jose S. Lima, with whom she shared a rich life filled with love and laughter. Together, they enjoyed gardening, a passion that brought them closer and allowed them to create beautiful memories in their backyard.

Mary also leaves three children: Gary Lima and his wife Elizabeth, Tracy Lima, and Kevin Lima with his companion Aimee Dube. The love she had for her children extended into her role as a grandmother, where she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren David, CJ, Aleah, Adrian, E.J. and Antonio.

Mary also leaves her siblings: Filomena Furtado (husband David), Leonor Carrelas, Helen Valadao (husband Francisco), Maria Ferreira, Edward Do Monte (wife Robin), Rose Medeiros Monte, Ana Paula Cunha (husband James), Paul G. Monte (wife Andrea), David Monte (wife Dawn), and Elizabeth Oliveira (husband Daniel), and was the sister of the late Bobby Monte.

Additionally, she was blessed with seven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, all of whom she held dear, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She enjoyed visiting casinos, going on car rides, and watching television. However, it was the time spent with her grandchildren that truly filled her heart with contentment.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St., Fall River,

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, March 12 at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Cathedral, Spring St. Fall River.
