Marthe Anne (Picard) Ratcliffe, 89, wife of the late George “Jerry” Ratcliffe, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.
A graduate of Jesus Mary Academy, she was employed by Bishop Connolly High School in the food service dept., Meals On Wheels and Bristol Community College cafeteria. She was on the Diocesan Committee for Catholic Youth Awards, a Girl Scout Leader, Notre Dame Parish Eucharistic Minister, Cantor and Lector, member of the Choir and a former CCD teacher.
Marthe was a member of Dames de St.Anne, St. Mary’s Cathedral Seniors. She volunteered for Catholic Memorial Home and Sarah Brayton Nursing Home as a Eucharistic Minister.
Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Anne T. Sylvia and her husband Robert, of Mattapoisett, Diane M. Maynard and her husband, Stephen of Fairhaven, and Beatrice E. Russo (late husband John ), of Long Island, N.Y.; two sons, Joseph T. Ratcliffe and his wife, Anna, of Westport and Andrew T. Ratcliffe and his wife, Trudy, of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren, Rheanna Andrews, Adrienne Borges, Matthew Bradshaw, Amanda Adamowicz, Deirdre Clark, Jeremy, Nicolas, Jamison, Corryn and Jillian Ratcliffe; 8 great-grandchildren, Matthias, Makenna, Stella, Mia, Parker, Gracelyn, Clarlotte and Penelope; five siblings, Atty. Raymond V. Picard, Annette M. Ford, Sister Therese J. Picard, RJM, Marie R. DeSormier) Brogan, Margarite C. Picard. She was the sister of the late Rev. Mr. Adrian D. Picard and Louise T. Roy and the daughter of the late Adrian and Beatrice (Ducharme) Picard.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 S. Main St., Fall River.
A Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption, Spring St.
