Marie Claire (Vanasse) Nadeau

Marie Claire (Vanasse) Nadeau, 94, of Westport, MA, wife of the late Wilfred E. Nadeau, died Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Born in Westport, she later returned as a permanent resident in 1960. She was educated in Fall River schools and graduated from the former Jesus Mary Academy and Thibodeau Business College. She assisted her late husband in the family trucking and rigging business, Joseph Nadeau and Sons for many years and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Parish. Mém&egravere and great-mém&egravere, as she was known in the family, was very fond and proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved being in their company. She leaves 2 sons, Donald Nadeau and his wife Pauline and Robert Nadeau and his wife Carol, all of Westport; grandchildren, Brian Nadeau, Christine Iskandar, Susan Ruscak, Marc Nadeau, Karen Concepcion, Beth Ballard, Donna Wisely and Julie Nadeau Amaral; 26 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Hermenie (Chamberland) Vanasse and the sister of the late Cecile Dion, Philippe, Roland and Leo "Tommy" Vanasse, Germaine Vaillancourt, Lauretta Potter, Rose Borden and Rev. Brother Henry Vanasse, FIC. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Monday 4:00 to 8:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Brothers of Christian Instruction, PO Box 159, Alfred ME 04002.
