Marie-Cecile "Cil" (Domingue) Cote passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2014 at her residence in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born August 11, 1931, in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of Charles H. Domingue and Graziella "Grace" E. (Forest) Domingue. Cil graduated in 1948 from the Dominican Academy in Fall River, MA. In 1952, she graduated cum laude with B.A. in Business from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. where she also played varsity basketball and served as the Student Council President her Senior Year. After college, from 1952 through 1957, she worked as the Private Secretary to Attorney J. Edward Lajoie in Fall River, MA. In 1956 she married her beloved husband George E. Cote. They were married for 47 years during which time they enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, golfing, playing cards, and travelling. The family also cherished their yearly summer vacations to Cape Cod, MA with family and friends; spending time at the beach, sailing, going to band concerts, having dinners on the beach, playing games, and just relaxing and enjoying each other's' company. In September 1964, George and Cil moved from Massachusetts to Corry, PA where they resided for 26 years. Cil was an active member at their parish, St. Thomas, where she sang in their choir, served as the Secretary of the first Parish Council and as the Chairperson of the Social Committee, and was also the President of the Women's Association. Cil was an avid golfer and served as the President and Ladies' Day Chairperson at the Corry Country Club and the North Hills Municipal Golf Club. In May, 1990 George and Cil retired to New Bern, N.C. where she continued her interests in singing, and playing golf, tennis, and bridge. While in New Bern, Cil was the Playday Chairperson for the Emerald Ladies' Golf Association (ELGA) in 1991; ELGA Tournament Chairperson in 1993 and 1994; ELGA Vice-President in 1995; ELGA President in 1996; ELGA Rules Chairperson from 2004-2006; and was also active as member of the St. Paul Parish Adult Choir from 1991 through 2007. In 2011, Cil moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to be near her two daughters. Cil was predeceased by her beloved husband George and her brother Donald Domingue. She is survived by her sister Anita Paradis and her husband Ray of Chatham, MA; sister-in-law, Jackie Dominque of Naples, FL; daughter, Pauline M. Carrig and her partner Tom Ward, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son, Robert C. Cote and his wife, Chris, of Miramar Beach, FL; son, David G. Cote and his wife, Mary Pat, of Plano, TX; daughter, Elaine T. Campbell and her husband, Timothy Campbell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son, Marc J. Cote and husband Jay E. Henry of Brooklyn, NY; and grandchildren, Elizabeth Carrig, Colleen Wells and her husband Blair, Michael, and Sean Cote, and Lauren and Julia Campbell. A funeral mass with her cremated remains present will be held Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 A.M. in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Rd. Fall River. Committal prayers will take place immediately following in the mausoleum of Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd. Fall River. Reception to follow.
