Marianne E. (Geminn) Lorentzen-Pickett

November 29, 1949 — June 7, 2021

Marianne Lorentzen-Pickett was a woman powered by an ever-flowing spring of faith and love. Which she gladly shared with her family and friends. Marianne left this world to be reunited with her husband Clinton Pickett III on Monday morning June 7th 2021. Her faith and desire to live propelled her through an incredibly difficult two months of heart procedures and weeks in the hospital. She leaves behind a loving sister Regine (Craig) Bagely, her son Alexander Pickett, and family in Germany.

Marianne was born in Zweibrucken Germany on November 29th 1949. Growing up in post-war Germany helped shape her strong constitution and resilient manner, which came in handy during the many moves the Pickett family made over the years (due to Clint’s military service.) After graduating from college she worked as a special translator on behalf of the German government for the Engineering Squadron at an US Air Force Base in Germany at the time.

It was there while working at the Air Base that she met her late husband Clinton Ambrose Pickett III. Clint, not knowing the area, would come to Marianne seeking dating advice and popular dinner locations for another co-worker he was looking to win-over. It was during these exchanges that Marianne realized how sincere and gentlemanlike Clint was. It still required a number of date proposals on Clint's part before Marianne relented and the relationship quickly flourished. They married on September 14th 1985 and gave birth to her only child Alexander shortly after.

The funeral service will be held at St Andrews by the Sea at 2:00PM on Thursday June 17th, located at 182 Willow Ave, Little Compton, RI 02837. Immediately followed by a Celebration of Marrianne’s life at Four Corners Grille, 3841 Main Rd, Tiverton, RI 02878. We hope that many of her friends or those whose lives were touched by her in any way will come have a bite to eat or share a drink while sharing stories and joy of the fulfilling and well-lived life Marianne led.
