Maria O. (Branco) Sousa

Maria Odilia (Branco) Sousa, 74, of Mt. Hope Ave., Fall River, passed away, Friday, November 20, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fenais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the wife of 49 years of the late Joao Rego Sousa and the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria N. (Medeiros) Branco. She worked at Beacon Garment for ten years and was a member of Santo Christo Parish. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her plants. She is survived by four children, Eulalia Antunes, Octavio Sousa and Jose Sousa, all of Fall River and Joao Sousa of Germany; three grandchildren, Kevin and Bethany Sousa and Michelle Antunes; siblings Joana Cordeiro, Maria De Fatima Cordeiro and Joao Branco, all of Fall River and Leonel Branco of New Bedford and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel, Antonio, Jose, Honerato and Mariano Branco and Rosa Travassos. Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass in Santo Christo Church, at 10:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation, Monday morning prior to the funeral from 8:00 to 9:00 AM.
