Maria (Botelho) Rodrigues

Maria (Botelho) Rodrigues, 89, of Fall River, passed into eternal life Saturday, June 15, 2024. She was the wife of the late Joao S. Rodrigues.

Born in St.Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of Mariano Botelho and Isabel (Tavares) Botelho Thomas.

Maria was a dedicated sister to her many siblings whom she helped care for.  She came to America in 1971 from the Azores.

A sewing machine operator, Maria was employed by Four Seasons.

She loved her family, and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting sweaters for her family and crochet embroideries.

She was the mother of Isabel Melo (husband Fernando), John Rodrigues (wife Rosa), Virginio Rodrigues, Maria Sousa (husband Phil),Carmo Varley (husband Ben), Mario Rodrigues, Dina Azevedo (husband Robert) and the late Vidalia Hitchcock;

The sister of Dina Freitas, Mariano Botelho, Germano Botelho, Mia Alves and the late José Botelho

She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, a great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place Thursday, June 20, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.

Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
