Maria (Martins) DaSilva, 81, of Fall River, wife of the late Candido "Candy" DaSilva died peacefully at home Saturday, August 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a long illness. Born in Padros, Terras, De bouro, Lisbon, Portugal, the daughter of the late Francisco and Tereza (Afonso) Martins, she came to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1955. A member of UNITE, she was employed by Forecaster Coat MFG. She leaves 2 children, Joyce Goncalves and her husband Bento of Fall River and Kenneth DaSilva, Sr. and his wife Debora of Somerset; grandchildren, Eric Goncalves and Kenneth DaSilva, Jr. Caryn (DaSilva) Moniz, Kristina DaSilva, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rose Rodrigues, Manuel, Joseph, and Fernando Martins. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM from Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Good Shepherd Church at 11:00 AM. Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation, prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 10:00 AM.
