Maria José (Melo) Carneiro

Maria José (Melo) Carneiro, 82, of Fall River, wife of Serafim C. Carneiro, entered into rest Sunday, September 4, 2016.

A "supermom" to her family, she always thought of her family first, to her last breath.

Besides her husband of 56 years, she leaves seven children, Eduarda Carneiro and her husband Jose, Antonio C. Costa and his girlfriend Lidia Botelho, Barbara Medeiros and her husband Tony, John Costa and his wife Nicole, Joe Costa and his wife Karen, Peter Costa and his wife Donaria and Ana Costa and her boyfriend Erick Giron; grandchildren, Diane, Nevin, Katya, Erika, Jacob, Nick, Emma and Aiden; a great-grandson, Darian; sisters, Julieta, Hilda and Ana; and nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Antone Jose and the daughter of the late Antonio Melo Zambiga and Conceirao Neta; and the sister of the late Conceao, Antonio, Joao, Henrique and Jose.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 7:45 a.m. from the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at Santo Christo Church at 9:00 a.m. Entombment, Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation, Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Large parking area & barrier-free entrance at the rear of funeral home.
