Maria Capela

Maria Capela, former owner of Lucky Loaf Bakery, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, at the age of 87. Born on May 27, 1937, in Arcos De Valdevez, Portugal, Maria's journey was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.

Maria was a devoted wife to her late husband, Joaquim E. Capela, and a loving mother to her two children, Manuel Capela and Maria Capela. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she poured her heart into nurturing them with love and support. She was deeply connected to her extended family, including her sister, Perfeita Martins, providing strength and joy to those around her.

Beyond her personal life, Maria was known for her passionate commitment to her faith and her church, finding purpose and solace in her spiritual devotion. She was a great friend to many, radiating kindness and warmth, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Maria’s legacy will be cherished by her surviving family members and friends, who will remember her strength, compassion, and the delicious treats she lovingly crafted at Lucky Loaf Bakery. She touched countless lives through her bakery, creating not just food, but a welcoming community spirit.

As an influential figure in her family and community, Maria Capela’s memory will continue to inspire those who carry forward the values she embodied: love, dedication, and unwavering faith. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
