Margaret “Peg” Munroe Dion, 90, of Fall River, died Saturday at Catholic Memorial Home, from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Swansea, and raised in Tiverton, she was the daughter of the late Kendall and Grace (Connors) Munroe.
She was the wife of the late Eugene Dion, and sister of the late Jean Wood and Kendall Munroe.
A graduate of the Dominican Academy, she lived in Boston, Taunton, and Dighton, MA, Baltimore, MD, and Raytown, MO, before returning to Fall River after her husband’s retirement.
She worked as a bank bookkeeper and as a dental assistant. In her later years, she worked for the American Red Cross, Fall River office, providing service to military families, most notably during Desert Storm. She very much enjoyed her last job at the Fall River Public Library.
She was very proud of her Scottish heritage, and particularly proud of her Munroe ancestors who fought for freedom in the Revolutionary War.
She leaves a son, Marc Munroe Dion and his wife Deborah Allard Dion, of Fall River, and nieces and nephews.
Steel true. Blade Straight.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Department of the Fall River Public Library, 104 N. Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
